In This Very Moment

I hear my Abba’s tender whispers:

“Beloved, do you know what I love about you in this very moment? I love that you see yourself as Mine. Your ongoing realization that your identity is secure in Jesus Christ is shaping you into your most authentic self—the person I created you to be. You are learning to rest in Me, trusting Me to care for you as the best Abba you could ever have.

“When storms come, you know that I am in the boat with you, and you trust in My presence to protect you. When questions come, you look to Me for the answers that will satisfy your soul (mind, will, emotions) and set your feet in the right direction. When temptation comes, you are wise enough to walk away and seek Me in the quiet place.

“Though you still have struggles and sometimes falter and fail, your heart is intent on following after Me. This delights Me beyond anything you could imagine.

“From the beginning, My plan was always that My beloved ones would live in constant fellowship with Me. I walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, after their purposeful activities tending that exquisite garden. Daily I imparted My wisdom and My heart for them, but the Evil One came and they fell for his deception and believed his lies. Everything changed in the Fall of humanity. Everything except My love, for I am love, and My nature and My character will never change. My grace made a way to restore humanity to Myself by sending Jesus Christ, My Only Son to pay the penalty of sin and make a way where there otherwise was no way. My Son is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only source of Life, now and forever. To truly follow Him is to walk by faith in Him, daily, on the path of My righteousness all the days of your life.

“Beloved, My deep desire in this very moment is that our fellowship and conversation remain honest and true, intimate enough to be heard in silent moments. Remain in Me, My child, and I will remain in you, directing you, leading you. Always onward. Always forward. And, beloved, always homeward.”
