Great Expectations

I hear my Abba’s quiet whispers:

“Beloved, I stand here with you in this fresh-fallen year that has only just begun. What are you sensing in your spirit? Excitement? Apprehension? Fear? Or expectation?

“Let your heart and soul (mind, will, emotions) be filled with great expectations, beloved, for this year has already been crowned with My everlasting goodness! I am not apprehensive or fearful about the days ahead, so neither should you be. Come close, My child, and abide with Me. Listen daily for My voice of comfort and reassurance.

“My bounty, My goodness, My abundance are always present where I am. So come into My presence. Deliberately. Intentionally. Allow yourself to sense My sufficiency for all of your needs—body, soul, and spirit. Where I am, I am always overflowing.

“Let Me walk with you in your inner life. Let Me walk around on the inside of you—for you are made of the earth, beloved. Let Me have access to those hardened internal pathways—those thought patterns, opinions, judgments, habits. You will find that wherever My footsteps touch the earth on the inside of you, your soul will be restored, comforted, blessed, and made whole. A rich inner harvest will surely come forth. Where your soul once lived in a wilderness of feeling lost, lonely, and abandoned, it will become a verdant pastureland. Where the ups and downs of life once exhausted you, you will discover that these internal hillsides are covered with joyful blossoms.

“My promise to you, beloved, is a bountiful inner harvest in the year ahead. But you must be willing to participate in the process and let the soil of your heart be made ready for all that is ahead. Meet with Me in My Word. Rest in the grace of the One who is The Word, the One by whose own pure and spotless sacrifice you have been redeemed. Let your own expectations give way to My great and holy expectations for you.

“Behold, I stand at the door of your heart and knock. Will you invite Me inside, beloved?”
